52 stories – number four – Perfect moment

Hello and welcome to week four in this story-telling adventure.

Perfect Moment

My ‘test’ if you will, to knowing if I’ve succeeded in my quest to capture the story, will be that if I can just quote the journaling I’ve used on the page and not need/want to add anything here in the post to explain it further, then I have done it, I’ve got all the bits of the story down.

Here’s the story from this page –

I wasn’t really looking forward to the night that it was going to be just Mum, ma and Buddy at the cottage. I was sleeping in the downstairs twin room. We woke really early having survived the night. Went out for a great long walk on the beach saw the low moon and the sun rise. Then we went back to bed. I had a good book. The dog had his choice of three spots to snooze and a cup of coffee in my fav orange mug. Buddy settled for snuggling up to my leg and we spent a quiet hour in heaven. A peaceful, gentle and perfect star to a lovely day in one of my favourite places.

The takeaway from story number four/Would I add anything more?

Where do I begin! Actually it’s not that bad but I’ve mixed up sentences and it doesn’t make sense all the way through. But I guess the reason behind making the page is there though even if it is not grammatically correct. So drafting needed – again! I think should have added the reason why I wasn’t looking forward to that night but that isn’t really the story here so maybe best left out?

Anyway a good learning exercise this week.

52 stories is a year long series or adventure in my story telling. Can I get the whole story onto a layout? Am I telling the stories I want to tell? Read the inspiration post here.

  • Snuggling fur babies is one definitely a piece of heaven, combined with a good book & hot beverage (I’ll make mine tea), a special moment to treasure. Why were you nervous? I know I spend the first few nights on high alert when Mr Man travels, but by the 3rd or 4th night, I can settle earlier & sleep some.

  • Only because it was just me and my Mum and the cottage is in the middle of nowhere! And I had to take Bud out last thing and it’s spooky dark……
