Lists – things that feel like home

Ah, well. This is an easy one, no? It’s a funny thing actually, trying to pin down what home feels like. Is it comforting and cozy? It is safe and sleepy? Is it a hide away or out in the bright city lights? I imagine it is all of those things and more and that each of us has our own special ideas and thoughts on what home is to us.

I think that in pondering what made it onto this list I have narrowed down that to me home feels like safety, comfort, tradition and familiarity.

Here’s the list:

  • having curly hair
  • holding Gav’s hand
  • the first cup of coffee
  • a hot water bottle
  • the softness of Buddy’s ears
  • thick socks
  • hearing the first swifts return from winter away
  • the smell of washing from my Mum’s
  • seeing the moon rise

What does home feel like to you?

  • What a great question you pose. What does home feel like for me, has me thinking hard about this. Off the top of my head I would say; a refuge; tradition; cats; garden; us; order; books. Oh yes I am going to need time for this question to further develop. I also think that a “Right Now” scrap page about home is beckoning. I am starting to see two sides to this layout – the good & the drives me crazy but still good (i.e. Good = cats; DMC: the fur on everything) 😉
