Lets have a look at a few close up shots and the cover I made for this years December Daily.
I am a big fan of making my own covers and pages for mini books. I began with a card sheet that came with some of my Project Life page protectors.
I cut this down to 6.5 inches. And covered the edges with washi tape. This gives the book a bit more stability and you don’t see the corrugated edges.
For the decoration on the book cover I was inspired by a few images over at Pintrest. This one in particular.
I glittered up a Maya Road chipboard snowflake using glossy accents as the adhesive.
And put the snowflake onto a square velum tag.
Then after choosing a red and white candy cane paper as the left side paper I tried a few options for the right side.
I liked the red best and added white Thickers for the 25.
Then added some rub ons and stamped letters for the rest of the title. I used white Stazon.
Just couldn’t resist putting all the other December Daily’s in the shot to compare them.
Here are a few close up shots of the inside pages.
A glittery Thicker on a vellum tag fixed in place with a star brad.
Using Tim Holtz bauble fragments I adhered some number kraft card with glossy accents and fixed to the page with a heart brad.
Just can’t not put a red envelope in these books. This one has a strip of red sequins added and white stazon stamped number and circle accent.
Vellum tag with glitter numbers tied on with gingham ribbon.
I covered little wooden embellishments, a house in this case, with white Distress ink added some of the same washi I used on the outside edges of the cover and put them onto tiny paper bags. Thought it would be fun to pop a journalling card into the envelope.
And there you have it. All ready for the 1st December.
