Six Projects before Christmas – Project four

As it’s Monday it’s time for project four.

My head is so full of things to do this festive season that I felt like I was wandering around this morning bumping into ideas. Does that ever happen to you? So much to do you can’t settle to do anything.

So I went to Pintrest and looked through my boards, after all that’s what there for right?

And I found this beautiful bauble. I knew that’s what I wanted to make this week and I’d bought some clear baubles as Hobbycraft a while ago. I actually saw a clear bauble idea several years ago on Donna Downey’s blog but couldn’t find it again. So I used the one I pinned instead.

I typed a sheet of A4 with the words I wanted to put inside the ornament – the font is Scrip MT bold - and printed it out on ordinary printer paper.

I trimmed each line of words into strips and curled them with scissors. Like you would do with that ribbon you get on little rolls for gift wrapping.

Then after removing the hanger I fed each curl into the bauble. I tweaked some as they’d curled up too tightly. I kept filling until I thought it looked full but you could still read the words.

For the ‘H’ I used a Tim Holtz type charms and four teeny jingle bells.  Tied with red ribbon to hang on the tree and hey presto.

I adore this little bauble and will definately be making more and varying the design. This has inspired me so much today.

And I love that I can use this project as part of December Daily day five.
